Portrait by DoctorWhoOne Hey all.

So, series 9's opening story has now ended, and wow what a terrific 2 parter that was eh B-)

And blimey, we saw Davros both out of his chair, revealing just how much is really left of his body, plus also a really amazing revelation - HE HAS EYES !!. Seriously, I thought he'd lost them in the accident that crippled him all those centuries ago on Skaro during the thousand year war. Seeing him with eyes thou, for me he made a passing resemblance a little to the character Ivan Ooze from 1995's 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - The Movie' . . but that may just be me seeing that resemblance if no one else.

Course, it was obvious the Hand Mines was going to be exterminated and not Davros himself as a child, naturally to keep the timeline safe ensuring nothing had changed.

Was interesting seeing Clara inside a Dalek casing thou which I'm sure for many of us had strong echos of memory going back to 3 years ago in 2012 with 'Asylum of the Daleks' which introduced Jenna-Louise Coleman as the Clara echo known as Oswin Oswald who off course was also inside a Dalek casing . . . . and sadly became an actual Dalek mutant too, plus like this recent 2 parter, 'Asylum' also had classic Daleks involved, so that was pretty interesting too.

Never thought we'd ever see the Doctor in Davros's chair. Peter Capaldi must have had an incredible amount of fun driving that around the studio floor :D

The one major problem I have with this story is the classic Daleks themselves. Don't get me wrong, I am glad to have seen them in this story, but I don't understand why they was featured, because Davros never said if he discovered some old Dalek casing lyring around somewhere on Skaro or any real explanation for them being there, so really one would have expected to have just seen Time War Daleks and no other type really, and yes, I am aware fan's lately have been asking about the old 2010 Paradigm Daleks, I did a recent possible explanation about them on a recent upload last week, but if you look up the Paradigm Daleks on the Doctor Who Wiki page, it seems the Paradigm Daleks may have ditched their multi-coloured casings in favior of the Time War Dalek version itself, so the Paradigm Dalek mutants basic now live inside Time War Dalek casings. Still, whatever the reason for why classic Daleks was involved, I'm just glad they was, especially the Special Weapons Dalek this time around ;)

Talking of that Dalek, it seems to have ended a long 27 year old debate weather of not that Dalek can talk or not, and it seems we can since we heard ot chant 'Exterminate' and 'All praise Davros !', plus it seems to me the same prop had been used at one point as not one but two Special Weapons Daleks, one in the Dalek control room, the other with a Time War Dalek going into Davros's medical room to find him out of his chair.

Missy off course is currently buggered as she appeared to be trapped on Skaro, but I'm sure she'll find a way out of it.

For me, the greatest thing of all about this story is that the Daleks have finally accepted Davros as their ruler, 40 years later since his debut in 'Genesis of the Daleks', so congratulations Davros, I'm bloody well pleased for you. Ta Ta Emperor Daleks, Ta Ta Supreme Daleks - Davros is KING !! Emote king - :emoteking:

The interesting thing right now for the rest of this series is what exactly the Doctor's confession is, something we won't find out until the finale.

Once more, just to end this review, I'd like to congratulate Deviant Art user David Hobday :iconvotedave: who owns and operated his 1988 style Renegade Dalek in both parts of this epic story. Dave has written up very interesting stories on his official website [link below image] about his 4 days filming on set and how he got involved with the story with his Dalek, which he happily calls 'Derek' :) There is also information about 'Derek' and the other Daleks seen in the story on the website 'Dalek 6388' also linked below so do check those out :)

[if possible, please don't ask about my Autism, I don't like to keep talking about it because sometimes I can get down and depressed because of the condition, I'm only mentioning that I have Autism purely to save me the bother of always having to correct my spelling errors I sometimes make. I speculate that Missy will save her ass by convincing Davros that she can help him get the sewer daleks under control, and from there forge an alliance with him & the Daleks, so next time we see them they'll be working together to conquer Galifrey before the Doc can reach it again...Which would be far more epic if the current Master wasn't a Mary Poppins cosplayer XD

I could be completely wrong of course, but it seems like the most logical way she could avoid being killed in that situation without using a telemat or vortex manipulator to escape, and which would have longer term, bigger consequences for the Doctor to face.

Regardless, I am glad that Davros is officially the supreme ruler of the Daleks at long last, those angry pepper shakers haven't had the best track record as of late & its about time they finally realized their old man knew what was best for them XD...Plus I find Davros more interesting & scary than them since he can think in ways they can't & can better challenge the Doctor. Emperor & Supreme Daleks come and go, but there is but ONE Davros! >8D
