CLICK IMAGE FOR A NICE BIG CLOSE UP :D

Drawn by me on Monday 4th June and completed today [Thursday 7th June 2012].

Having seen a lot of fan art recently since I joined Deviant Art, I wanted to produce a one off piece of my own, but somehow make it seem different to any other piece of Death Note fan art Ive come across, so Ive decided to go with something along the lines of a film poster if Death Note where to be made into a live action film with an all English speaking cast.

The one real thing I feel sets my fan art work apart from anything else Ive seen here on Deviant Art is the Goth like cross which I found on Google - [link]

I started off with drawing the cross by printing it off and placing it underneath a plain sheet of A4 paper, and carefully sketched out the cross, but left out the bottom so I had enough space to draw the Death Note itself.

I then drew the Death Note logo using the DVD Box Set cover to help copy it onto the cross.

I drew examples written by Light Yagami inside the Death Note using my replica Death Note I brought for £8 at the London MCM Expo from a nice lady who works for Tokyo Toys.

To finish off the drawing before colouring it in using ProMarkers, I decided to add Ryuk's Shinigami eyes.

I wasn't entirely sure on the colour of Ryuk's skin, wither it's grey or a blueish sort of grey judging by the covers on the Death Note DVD's that he features on, so I just used a the same light grey I used for the cross.

Anyways, thank you for reading. I don't think I'll ever do anything else like this again, but as I'm often fond of saying - Time will tell . . . . always does :)
